Come on up the stairs and in the front door – yes we have stairs and a front door! And if you look carefully on the lower left you can see the new natural gas meter and on the lower right the black plastic nub that is poking up from the connection into the sewer line.
Step inside and straight ahead is the window that will be over the kitchen sink, the gas range to the left and the apartment size dishwasher and refrigerator will be to the right. Just to the right of the refrigerator spot you see a pocket door that passes through the laundry closet into the bathroom. Notice the pocket doors utilizing salvaged doors, all the plumbing, most of the electrical and just WOW – so much progress!!
Let’s check out the bathroom! It will be a perfectly petite bathroom with all the essentials. Tub (also salvaged) is installed and you can see the toilet connection capped off in the lower middle left and further to the left the stub outs for the wall mounted sink.
Finally, let’s look back towards the door we entered. I love all the natural light from the windows and door on this south side. The broom and garbage mark the location of the couch. The pocket door is actually a pair of double pocket doors (also salvaged) that will lead into the bedroom. Look to your left into the bedroom where soon you may be resting your head after a day of exploring Portland!
